Awakened on an Autumn weekend afternoon by sunshine, I knew it was going to be a beautiful day. The sky was an endless blue without a cloud in sight. Autumn and Winter happens to be very cold and wet in Hangzhou, the sunny weather was more than welcome and it was meant to be enjoyed outdoors. Helene, John and I started off with some noodles at a restaurant down the street - fresh hand-pulled or shaved noodles were ordered at the cost of $.50 USD. The locals consider West Lake most beautiful when raining; the mist and fog can be charming but I prefer sun-drenched California weather. The Americans met up with the Australians and we called it a day.
